The oil skimmer or oil collector consists of the main engine of the oil skimmer and the hydraulic unit.
The hydraulic unit is driven by the engine and the electrical energy is converted into hydraulic energy, which is used to control the stroke length of the hydraulic cylinder piston, which adjusts the buoyancy of the main body, so that the oil collected on the water is higher than the empty space of the oil skimmer.
The oil overflows through the empty space to the skimmer collection tank and is then pumped by the oil collection tank at the bottom of the tank. Finally, the collected oil is transferred to a shore storage facility or ship for oil recovery.
